We were tasked to undertake a safety defect survey to the under croft of a swimming pool in a school.

This is a return inspection in 12 months due to the large number of original defects found in the concrete.

We deployed 3 multi trained operatives to undertake the confined space safety defect survey, they would normally be abseiling on the side of a building somewhere carrying out inspection or maintenance projects.

Our Confined Space Inspection & Survey is reported and recorded in the same way as our Rope Access Inspection & Defect Survey, except in probably a more hostile environment.

As with all our Confined Space works, a rescue plan is at the forefront of all works carried out inside Confined and Enclosed Spaces, this is encapsulated in the Safe System of Works in our site-specific Risk Assessments and Methodology.

A Safe System of Work SSOW will contain all documentation needed prior to entry into a Confined Space. Prior to any entry a Toolbox Talk will be carried out by the Confined Space Team and any new concerns raised must be entered onto the site-specific Risk Assessment.

All RAMS are produced by our Manager who is trained to City & Guilds 972 Level 4 Confined Space Supervisor

Our services when working in hostile environments such as Confined Spaces range from basic visual defect surveys and inspections to more challenging undertakings, such as carbonation sampling using cover meters and extracting concrete samples using diamond core drilling.
