We have had ongoing water ingress problems to high rise residential tower blocks in Birmingham

Our Rope Access Team have been using different solutions to try and seal water ingress into the flats.

On this occasion, it seemed that dependent on wind direction and amount of rain, that the panel joints to this LPS type tower block were the likely source of the water ingress into the flats causing damage and damp internally.

The recommendation was to insert a low modulus silicone into all panel joints both vertically and horizontally, this equated to nearly 3000 linear metres inserted to the joints.

It seems this operation was successful as there have been no new reports of ingress to that particular elevation.
