We have just completed an annual inspection of assets for a large manufacturing and engineering company in Redditch.
We were called in to inspect over 50 assets ranging from EN131 Portable Ladders to BS4211 Fixed Ladders.
We were informed that the previous inspection company had inspected the assets but only provided a surface mounted inspection tickets to each asset once the inspection had passed or failed……this is a far cry from what is required for an in-depth inspection.

It is expected under PUWER 1998 should be inspected every 12 months by a competent person, Our Inspectors have undergone current Ladder Inspection & Ladder Safety Training, as well as training to inspect Personal Protective Equipment, where there is a requirement to inspection harnesses to be used on BS4211 Fixed Ladders with Fall Arrest Equipment installed on them.
Upon completion of an inspection, a comprehensive and detailed checklist and report and a certificate will be provided.
After inspection, Portable and Fixed Ladders will be tagged, this improves safety for the end user as it increases effective communication by displaying the latest information relating to the inspection period and inspection due date.
We currently inspect EN131 Portable Ladders and BS4211 Fixed Ladders for Companies and Local Authorities in Redditch and Birmingham, if you have a requirement for assets to be inspected, including BS EN13374 Edge Protection or Guardrails, please contact us for a free no obligation quote.
