We have recently carried out a Safety Survey to a High-Rise residential property in Hanley after a fire had broken out and engulfed the top corner of the High Rise.

Our Rope Access Building Inspection Team were tasked to undertake the following:

  • Complete a Wall Tie Survey to the affected areas on the front and gable elevations.
  • Removal of numerous amounts of coursework to spandrels to assess fire wall and its current condition, also to assess the condition of the cavity voids.
  • Carry out a location Defect Survey and remove any loose debris.
  • Carry out a hammer test to the affected area.

All findings were recorded on a desktop report to be used as reference when a refurbishment occurs.

The Safety Survey was carried out using Rope Access which was by far the most financially beneficial means of access on this site – we find that Rope Access far out ways other means of access economically in similar scenarios.
