Rope Access Concrete Core Sampling in Wales

We were tasked to undertake a large amount of concrete samples to a bridge in Wales using our Rope Access IRATA Level 3’s

This consisted of retrieving Core Samples for Laboratory analysis.

Core samples are taken as Concrete has relatively high compressive strength, but much lower tensile strength. For this reason, it is usually reinforced with materials such as steel due to its strong tension qualities.

To carry out the core samples, we used a Hilti diamond core drill this has a water butt attached to it to aid lubrication.

Once the concrete core sample has been retrieved, our IRATA Technicians repair the aperture with a like for like repair medium.
